updates..
Hi all, its been a long week.. i'm so very busy with dj-ing. I hve a total of 4 shifts for this week! Haha.. yeah.. its the beginnin for a newbie dj.. thus its goin to be intensive trainings for this period of time.
Hw does it feel like being a dj?
Its practically being thrown into a battlefield.. whereby u hve to be extremely fast in handling the equipment - putting CDs and MDs into the respective players... adjusting the volume.. fading music in and out for different music coming fr different sources all tgt. Tts jus the basic. ahha.. so fun!
I need to familiarise w setting the equipment.. controling 6 equipments simultaneouly while u speak to the listeners.. sieving out news from the internet and deliver it to the listeners (yea.. no time to skim thru all the news .. but u r expected to give a summary of the news n collate them in certain order)... dealing w sudden catastrophe lke computer hang or system hang while u r delivering ya news?! hahah..
Its so funny.. admist all these stuffs.. i alwys get to see the schedule for my 3 or 5 hrs prog lke 2 mins b4 my show starts. HAHA!! tryin to be funny rite? Since i'm hosting for the first time.. the progs are v new to me and i've got no idea wat they r all abt. My colleague will feed me w more info when tt specific prog is abt to start. So, ya.. i'm constantly in for a surprise :) And tts alright.. its abt hw u deal w them tt is fun. ahah..
But its rlly a great experience. So far, i've hosted for 2 shifts. It has been so exciting and impromptu. I hve learnt to expect anything and everything from myself! wohahaa..
My favourite component is the call in part - listeners will call in to comment on anything.. chat w u or answer ya qns tt u've asked on air. Its practically a v warm n nice feeling when u tok to nice listeners. You get well wishes n encouragements fr them. Anws, i lke to tok n chat w ppl.. so its rlly quite relaxing when its time to receive calls from listeners. Some listeners call you even when u din ask them to call.. they jus want to chat w u. ahahha...
today i've got a call fr an auntie.. she asked me to hurry up tell her the answer to a little quiz tt i've asked earlier on. She claimed tt initially she wanted to go out but she needs to know the answer to the quiz b4 she can go out!!! woahhahahahahhaa
so.... i told her the answer.
Then...... i asked ANOTHER quiz!
woahahahahhahaahahhahah
Now, u cant go out anymore :D :D *hiak hiak hiak*
Another uncle called in and said, "hello hello... sixian jie?"

hahahahahah! er.. uncle.. i can be ya daughter leh! (of cos i din say tt)
ahha.. i've checked w my colleagues n apparently.. he calls all djs 'jie' or 'da-ge'. Yup, he is one polite uncle. hahaha.. but its rlly funny.. i laughed out on air e moment he says 'sixian jie'!
Right.. tts all for now.. need to sleep . in need of rest desparately. Duck needs to sleep now..
tml is Vday.. oh.. its 1.15am now.. so.. its v day alreadyy!!!!

Yo Yo!! Whats up, dude?!
Hahah.. duck has got an announcement to make: Duck is goin to take on a new role after the CNY.. i'm goin to be a part-time DJ :)
Haha.. sounds fun.. getting to play songs for my listeners.. being enclosed in an air-tight studio and starting to imagine tt you r speaking to thousands of listerners whom you dun even know.
Anw, I'm going to be a part-time DJ for an online radio station whereby one need to subscribe and pay a monthly fee before he/she can tune into the station. Went for the audition on monday and was recruited there n then. The audition required me to do news reporting and a segment of my own show or whatever I want to talk about on air. I was given a few minutes to prepare and then there i was .. talking into the mike and my voice recorded by the system.
I'll start work after the CNY week.
I'm looking forward to the new experience... i'm sure there are so many things for me to learn and pick up in this new field.
