Well.. feelin kinda guilty these days. Nope.. din kill any ants or cockroaches. Its jus tt i'm depleting my allowance (sponsored by daddy) due to wks of indulgence in shopping sprees. Even if its nt shopping sprees, i still spend on feastings n other forms of entertainment like arcade. The best part is .. i dun hve a job now! Watever.. jus wana spend more time w my bed.. drink teh at kopitiam.. watch e clock ticking away.. living in a slow pace. Ok.. i admit.. the previous sentence is pure crap. Basically, I'm jus slacking.

Anw.. couldnt seek much pleasure in watever i'm doin now. I enjoy shopping, swimming, cycling etc.. but these activities onli gave me short-term pleasure at this moment of my life. So, i've decided tt i need to seek new forms of pleasure n derive new forms of satisfaction in the things i'm gonna embark starting from this very second. After much consideration, i came out w a brilliant plan!

Ta~Da!!

The duck decides to seek solace in PLANTING! I bought 2 packets of seedlings.. 1 is for planting sweet corn while e other kind of seed is for planting daisies!! Aww.. isnt it sweet?!!!
hehehe..
I shall start planting tml! This is soo exciting.. !!! Cant wait!!!

22/5/06

Cher & me went for bouldering. *Gasp* Its so exciting.. i mean.. i've nv boulder in my entire life! E closest was onli climbing trees. Yup.. climbing trees can be quite fun!! But.. pls .. all gals out there.. pls rmb tt wearing a skirt to climb trees is a NO NO.. unless u wana make those guys under e trees really happy.

Anw.. tts nt e main pt.

The main pt is... I REALLY HAD LOTSA FUN BOULDERING!!! SQUEAK!!!
Thanx to Cher.. i've got to experience hw fun and thrilling bouldering is. Cher taught me and demonstrated some techniques on bouldering. Woah.. i'm telling u.. Cher is really a spiderwoman!! She is so cool and pro!! Look hw she planned her routes step by step & e way she laid her hands and footies on those tiles.. gosh.. tt serious look on her face is soo charming!

My shifu waving to duckie's camera!
Oh boy.. she waves to me while climbing?!!!
Bouldering sure looks easy with Cher ard...
She's e ONE!!

*blow whistles and open champagne*

In e meantime.. i think cher found her fren on one of e tiles..
n she tried to sweep it ( tiny spider) away...

Duckie bouldering...
muahhahhaaha... quite cool huh? (pls agree w me)

B4 i left.. i found sth really interesting..
Check this out:

This 2 pics r taken fr a signboard beside a hangboard (meant for climbers to train their bods)
And it says:

"Do not use the side hangboard if you have a cup-C or above bust size, whether male or female.
Besides, if you are female and cup-C or above, why the hell would you be doing here... "

WHAHAHAAHHAHHAHA... THIS SIGNBOARD IS SOOO FUNNY!! LOVE IT!

Got this website fr Cindy's blog. http://www.quizbox.com/personality/test82.aspx

This is e result...

Anw, I will say tt this analysis is 80% accurate.

Your view on yourself:

You are intelligent, honest and sweet. You are friendly to everybody and don't like conflict. Because you're so cheerful and fun people are naturally attracted to you and like to talk to you.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.

The seriousness of your love:

You are very serious about relationships and aren't interested in wasting time with people you don't really like. If you meet the right person, you will fall deeply and beautifully in love.

Your views on education

Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.
Not necessarily true. *wink*

How do you view success:

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.
Hmm.. nt sure abt this pt cos i still strive to make my dreams come true as far as i'm concern. No worries.. i will be even more courageous fr now on... :)

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.

Who is your true self:

You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

I've spoken to my instructor and we agreed tt wed 17/5 @ 10.30am wld be a fabulous day and gd timing to hve a driving lesson. I speculate tt there shd be lesser vehicles ard since its nt e peak hours nor lunch time. Yippy.. i can speed on e road again!!!

I woke up at 9am. Usually, i wld wake up at 12pm if no one wakes me up. However, I woke up early this morning and cant get back to sleep after tt. "Nvm.. its a gd start.. i shd wake up early everyday" I told myself.

At 10.20am, my instructor called me up to say tt she cmi at 10.30am. She wanted to changed it to 11am instead. "Nvm.. i'm a nice gal. I shall jus rot for another half an hour" I told myself.

At 11am, I waited for my instructor at e bus-stop. e duck flexed her arms and muscles.. cant wait to drive and speed!! woohoo...

At 11.20am, my instructor finally arrived! I ran towards her car... yet she refused to budge fr e driver seat. She wanted me to make myself comfortable at the passenger seat. ???? I was wondering wats e occasion... its nt my birthday.. even if it is.. she wont possibly wana celebrate my birthday w me rite?!! hmm.. maybe its her birthday, she hopes tt i can celebrate w her. Oh well.. i dun mind :)

Then, she told me e horrible truth...

My instructor: "Ah... actually i hve another student learning driving at 12pm leh. Pai seh leh... so pai seh... b cos i went to invite e god but it arrived late.. so i had to wait till now.. tts why i'm late!! Pai seh ah..."

(e duck gt a shock. i mean.. why din she jus cancel this lesson? This is so silly?!! I mean.. i'm gonna drive for like onli 30 mins? She cld hve jus told me over e phone. Issit rlly so difficult? Does she rlly missed me so terribly?!!! )

My instructor: "But hor.. nvm la.. today u dun learn driving.. i bring u go and pray to tt god.. then ah.. heng heng ah.. gd for u oso... tml then learn driving k?"

e Duck: (stoned for a few secs) "HUH?!! Er..... ok lor...........??? " ( deep in tot.. still haven recovered fr e shock)

No... i din go to any temple. I tot i was supposed to be in a temple praying. But, i landed up standing beside a kopitiam and praying in front of an altar.
B4 we went off, my instructor asked me to go nearer to e altar to see e lucky nos. so tt i can buy 4D. Being an obedient gal, i did as told and rmbed e 4 nos by heart.

When my instructor sent me back, i went to buy 4D. Ya, its my 1st time buying 4D. Its a new experience!! I knew tt i'm legally allowed to buy 4D since i'm 19 already. However, I din bring my IC w me at tt time. So, i started feeling kinda nervous.. as if i were underage. Silly duck! When it was my turn, i acted like an experienced 4D buyer. I handed my 'OMR' and money to e lady and got my receipt safely. YES.. SHE DIN SUSPECT ME!! HOORAY!!!

7.30pm:

I smsed daddy. Asked him to help me check if i've jus striked 4D. I was confident tt i mite strike since its my 1st time buying 4D as well.. beginner's luck perhaps!!
Daddy smsed back.. short and sweet : "No strike."
I replied him: "Hw can it be?!!! Did u c wrongly? I dun believe u!"
Daddy replied: " really" (notice.. there's no qn mark or exclaimation mark after e word 'really'. So, i still harboured hope)

8pm:
e Duck reached hme..
and checked e teletext.

Ya.. Daddy din bluff me. i din strike.

This is a response to e earlier entry - "Duckie Learning Centre".
Dun accuse e innocent duck saying tt she dislikes kids.

This is an extremely short interview.
By Reporter: Duckling A

(Duckling A shaked hands w e Duck and led e Duck to her seat.
Meanwhile, e Duck adjusted her clip-on mike and drank a sip of water.)

Duckling A: I've heard tt u do not love kids.. wats wrong w them? I mean... (Duckling A's voice started to tremble abit.. in fact it was on e verge of crying) WATS WRONG W HYPER ACTIVE KIDS? I MEAN WE HVE NO PROFESSIONAL TRAINING.. I MEAN... (and Duckling A broke dn into tears)

e Duck: Hey... wats wrong, Duckling A? Aww.. dun cry. (e Duck wiped its tears) I love kids.. i mean.. kids r wonderful. Kids can be annoying when they r incorrigible. But, tts e beauty of kids too. I mean they r so real.. so natural.. untainted. And guess wat.. e best part is to witness hw they grow up to be young adults.. in e process of falling, crying and being reprimanded for being disobedient. The process is so memorable and priceless. Kids r e joy of a family. Even e government says tt :)

And oh.. i've got prove to show tt i love kids..

Introducing my cutie pie.. Nephew Duckling! (note: Newphew Duckling was sitting on my lap)

e Duck gasped, "Isnt Nephew Duckling cute? Awww.... squeeze his cheek!"

Most importantly, Nephew Duckling loves e Duck!! He presents her w a new plan of the Duck Neighbourhood. (there r parks, HDB flats, roads etc.. Awww.. so sweet!!!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~End of interview~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile.. Reporter Duckling A demanded Nephew Duckling's phone number fr e Duck..
On Mothers' Day, Duckie got pierced..
Nope.. its not
尽忠报国
e duck did consider piercing tt but... its too painful for her.
So, she settled for sth small.. rlly small..
in fact.. its jus a hole.
ya.. haha.. told u. oh boy.. i think even minnie mouse is laughin at me.. (look at e backgrd..) Dun laugh at me.. its a gd start ok. I mean I've paid a price for tt.. no seafood for 2 wks... tts bad enuff.. *sniff sniff*
But its alright.. I love e new makeover for my ears!!! muahahahaha!!!
14/5/06 was Mothers' Day.
the Duck tgt w her family went to e esplanade to watch a concert. No.. its nt symphony orchestra nor some rock band concert. Its called "Beautiful Sunday - Happy Mothers' Day" featuring verteran singers like Deng Miao Hua and Marcus Chin (Chen Jianbing). And guess wat.. its FOC! So, as expected, thousand plus ppl (including e duck family) were lining up for the free seating concert.
Who says tt S'poreans r unfilial? Who says tt implementing the Maintenance of Parents Act is inevitable? Jus come dn and take a look: most of e crowds r transgenerational.. children, papa & mama as well as grandmama and grandpapa! * Tears welled up in e duck's eyes and she mumbled to herself, "wat a touching scene!!!"*
However, e poor duck din rlly get to enjoy e concert.. simply bcos there were a bunch of kids who talked non-stop during e entire concert! These bunch of adorable kids happened to sit directly behind me. I'm so blessed! Imagine.. there were abt 1600 seats in the Concert hall.. and they.. chose to sit behind me.. and spared the rest of the 1590 plus ppl. Parents who hve kids tt r super duper active/tok non-stop/dun appreciate old singers & kept laughing or giggling in e midst of the performance (onli love 'Hi Five' and "barney" etc). Those who suffer fr any one of e above syndromes.. pls.. lock them up in ya cosy hme. Many Singaporeans will appreciate this kind gesture of yours! I agree tt its nt easy to stop kids fr tokin or running ard.. i mean they r kids afterall! But, parents hve to make an effort to teach them hw to be GOOD AUDIENCES. They may be young but u hve to start treating them like young adults. Teach them hw to respect performers even if they dunno hw to appreciate certain kinds of performances. It matters alot to the performers out there, i mean its e basic form of courtesy rite?!!
Anw, I din wana strangle these kids since their parents were ard or spoil their (e kids') mood. However, I was so flabbergasted tt I hve to turn back and "shhs" them. "shhs" is a universal language. I'm glad tt they toned dn a little aft tt. But thanx to them.. i din rlly enjoy much of e performance. But i din rlly blame them. I mean.. i wld rlly love to say a big thank you to their parents instead. Oops.. this is supposed to be a Mothers' Day entry rite... wat an irony.hahah.. i mean Happy Mothers' Day to all mamas out there!!
Ok, shant dwell on it. Anw, i think god took pity on me and decided to give me a big reward. There was a lucky draw at e end of the concert. And onli 5 out of 1600 ppl got e prizes. My lucky draw no. happened to be e last no. to be called out!!! WOOOHOOOOO! I won myself $140 worth of vouchers. I presented these vouchers to mum cos its Mothers' Day!!
Love u loads mama... MUACKS!!!
Courage, also known as fortitude, is the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty.
~quoted from wikipedia~
Well-said!!
Today.. the duck faced issues tt has been plaguing her for yrs... issues tt she tot she wld rather nt approach or tok abt it for fear of losing the ppl ard her.. the ppl who r so v close to her.. ppl who hve became a part of her life. She wanted to bottle up these painful tots in the little heart of hers. Hide it away from others as long as she can. She knows tt it is fatal. Impeding danger decending, threatening to push her into a bottomless pit.
After struggling for so many yrs, she is well-aware tt her decision today will be the turning pt. Uncertainty awaits her. No, she does nt believe in jeopardizing this beautiful r/s. Rather, she is a strong believer - believes tt the r/s is able to withstand the test. This is definitely nt a superficial r/s. No doubts abt it.
And so, she followed her gut feeling for once. She wants to take a chance. No, she's not taking it for granted.. but taking a good risk, a necessary one.
*******************************************************************************
Its a new beginning... nothing can jeopardise it. unless we ourselves chose to give it up.
Never underestimate courage.
To the rare few who understand this...
CHEERS!!! WE ARE THE BEST!!! WE ARE UNSTOPPABLE!!! :)
Yes.. 7/5 is such an exciting day.. its really a blockbuster sunday!Warning: This is not for the faint-hearted. Readers who are experiencing high-tide (need to pee), pls do whatever u have to do in the toilet. Right Now! The rest of u.. yes U.. dun look back! I can see u! Be prepared for the adventure!
Incident 1:
Dad brought the whole family to Geylang. Yes.. ya eyes r nt playin tricks on u. Its the famous district. The vibrant place.. infested w em.. disgusting men. Oh, relax guys.. dad brought us there for branch! Geylang serves good food too (note: i really mean the literal meaning 'food')! Ok, anw, it was such an awful experience.. recalling this incident is such a painful experience. *the Duck tries to calm herself down.. she took a few sip of plain water and continued on her story* The coffeeshop tt we went to was fully packed w ppl (mostly men sitting ard w their gals). The minute my family walked into the coffeeshop, i can feel many eyes swiftly darting to our direction... instantly, i cld see and feel tt these dirty old men are looking at us (ok, lookin is too kind a word to describe their action.. in fact they were staring at us.. scrutinizing us). Oh, i forgot to mention tt onli my dad was spared from this mental sexual harrassment. Yes, mental sexual harrassment tt is! I was so scared.. I grabbed Daddy's hand. And i was ready.. so v ready.. nv ever so ready. Ready to scream till my voicebox explode if any dirty old men were to approach me!! Then, mummy and daddy decided tt we shd nt dine in this coffeeshop. So, we left tt dangerous place.
Incident 2:
As i shivered w fear in the car.. mummy drove us off to the main road. Suddenly, I saw sth flew past our car.. nope its not a dirty men chasing aft chickens. Its a yellow UFO (quoted fr my beloved sister sitting beside me)!!! We asked mummy to give chase to tt UFO.. and managed to take a photo of it. This is how it looks like:
Its known as SFL22C. Breed: Unknown. Speed: Undetectable. Characteristic: Unstoppable unless it meets the red traffic light.
I believe that everything has a reason to be here.. nothing is unexplainable. So, I highly suspect tt its appearance is sth worth pondering. Especially the fact tt it showed up in Geylang out of all places. Because of tt, I, the prize-winning Detective Duck deduce tt: A new batch of chicken will be delivered to the vibrant market! They are called the "SFL22C chickens"...
*Note: if u happen to be the driver of SFL22C, the last paragraph is a fictional story. relax dude!*
Incident 3:
Aft the Yellow UFO incident, another phenonmenon incident took place a few hrs later! According to Mr Kiasi Ho (patron) at the supermarket, he claimed tt he fainted when he first caught sight of the legendary stingray. When he regained conscious, he fainted once again. He regained conscious once again the nxt day, and guided the duck to the supermarket where he saw tt thing. Mr Kiasi Ho managed to snap a picture of the duck w the stingray b4 he passed out for the 3rd time.
No...i'm nt gonna say which party i'm supporting. No booing.. no criticizing. I'm a good citizen, obviously.
Election is such an exciting event!! Daddy is so v v concerned of the active democratic political scene in S'pore. Daddy will watch the news 4 times a day. Yes.. tt means channel U and channel 8 (both evening and nitetime slots). I can even memorize what the candidates are gonna say in their campaign rallies (when the videos are replayed in those news). Daddy din tell me which party he supported. Perhaps, he abides by the notion "Voting is SECRET". I cant 'dig' out any information from him. But, all i know is: Daddy is a fervant fan of the News programme.
Nowadays, S'poreans keep talking about this election (I din eavedrop.. they talked so loud till i could hear them so clearly *the duck gives an innocent look*) Usually, these people will reveal their feelings about certain parties - either criticizing or praising certain party. Then, when they realized tt they've spoken too much, they will suddenly keep quiet and say this cleverly "oh, but ... erm i wont say which party i'm voting for.. cos VOTING IS SECRET!" ( and give a smug look as if the others wont know who they will most likely be voting for after saying all those aggressive views).
The hottest and most happening hangouts are definitely ... the various neighbourhoods (where opposition party and PAP are contesting). Who cares abt pubs and clubs? Go meet ya favourite candidates at these neighbourhoods! They will be spotted sitting ard kopitiams and shaking hands with friendly S'poreans. C'mon man.. u can meet ya favourite candidates, shake their hands, get their autographs and enjoy a cup of kopi-O at less than a dollar! Its like the best deal!
Who says S'poreans are proud and ego bunch of ppl? What an accusation?! I have evidence to prove tt S'poreans are v friendly. Many S'poreans welcome the candidates with open arms regardless of which party they r from. Some of them will say "I will support u ah!" to both opposition parties. Haha.. now i suddenly understand why "voting is secret". U really nv know who they will vote for afterall! :)
